Know the season. Receive biblical rhythms of grace. Pray with understanding.

What time is it?

27 Tishrei 5787 · פ Peh · 5780s

This season

Move from wakefulness and repentance into mercy, rejoicing, and dwelling with God.

Tishrei is the seventh month in the Torah’s spring-based numbering and the month in which Jewish year numbering turns. It carries Yom Teruah/Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur, Sukkot, and Shemini Atzeret. For Christians, the month offers a concentrated invitation to wake up, repent, receive mercy, rejoice, and make room for God and people.

Try this at home

Make room for the whole Tishrei journey

Tishrei carries several major appointed times close together. Prepare enough margin to receive the sequence with attention, worship, repentance, and joy.

  1. Put Yom Teruah/Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur, Sukkot, and Shemini Atzeret on the calendar before the month begins.
  2. Choose one relationship where repentance, forgiveness, or repair deserves attention.
  3. Plan at least one unhurried meal or gathering shaped by gratitude, hospitality, and joy.

Pray with understanding

Carry people and places before God.

When the world is hurting, prayer is more than awareness. Bring real people, leaders, communities, and needs before Jesus with faith, compassion, and clear understanding.

Pray faithfully where God has placed you today.

  • For your household and local church: wisdom, healing, unity, courage, and provision.
  • For leaders and peacemakers: justice, restraint, truth, and protection for the vulnerable.
  • For people facing war, persecution, disaster, displacement, or grief: rescue, comfort, provision, and faithful help.
  • For your neighborhood and the nations God brings to mind: ask the Holy Spirit where to pray, give, encourage, or serve.
